Malekeh-Jahan

Malekeh-Jahan, "Queen of the World," Mohammad Ali Shah's cousin and queen, daughter of Prince Kamran Mirza Na'eb-Saltaneh (Nasser-ed-Din Shah's son), mother of Soltan Ahmad Shah. Characteristically, she, like her predecessor queens and many others of the Qajar (Kadjar) princesses, was a strong presence and worthy of being a Persian queen and Qajar (Kadjar) princess. Had it not been for the vagaries of history, she was about to reclaim the throne of Persia for her son and for the Qajars (Kadjars), but events had conspired against her. After Mohammad Ali Shah's death, she was able to keep the family together in exile in Europe.
